We work closely with all our vendors to hand select all the freshest produce. We season very simply using our own sauces, which have been proudly made in-house for over 30 years. Our aim here at Asahi is to provide you with a most memorable and enjoyable dining experience. It is a place to relax, have fun and have a laugh no matter what age you are!

  • DOES EVERYONE SIT IN FRONT OF THE BBQ?

    The main part of our restaurant is Teppanyaki seating in front of the hotplate. Alternatively, we have a smaller room of regular seating if you do not wish to be in front of the hot plate.

  • DOES EVERYTHING GET COOKED ON THE BBQ?

    Whether you order a Set menu or A-la-Carte, all main meals are cooked in front of you on the Teppan. However, entree, starters and desserts are not.

  • HOW DO YOU ORDER?

    We offer Set Menus as well as A-la-Carte. Set Menus are priced per person and includes a selection of dishes. For groups larger than 4, we recommend a Set Menu for the best experience.

  • ARE YOU BYO?

    We are fully licensed with a great range of beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, cider, sake and umeshu. BYO wine only, corkage charge $5 per person.

  • DO YOU HAVE GLUTEN FREE AND VEGETARIAN OPTIONS?

    Yes! We can cater for allergies or dietary requirements, simply let us know when you order. For more info, please give us a call!

  • HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN WE BOOK FOR?

    We take bookings of 2 or more. For smaller groups, the table may be shared. One of our tables is across two hot plates and can carry up to 16 adults comfortably. For larger groups please call us for more information.

  • where to park

    Street parking is available on Edgbaston Road and surrounding side streets.  Multi-Story car park (Park & Ride Beverly Hills) entrance from Edgbaston Road.  King Georges Road clearway ends at 7pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekdays. 

  • payment

    We accept Amex, Mastercard, Visa, Eftpos.  Surcharge 1.5% for all cards.  Cash also accepted.  No split bills.

BOOKING AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Thank you for choosing our restaurant. To ensure the best experience for all guests, please read our reservation policy below.

Reservation Policy

  • We recommend making a reservation in advance to secure your preferred date and time. Please note weekend bookings can fill up fast.

  • To help us provide the best dining experience for everyone, please arrive within 15 minutes of your booking time. If you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible.

  • Weekend Requirement: All bookings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday require a set menu to be chosen. Set menus are not mandatory for guests under 14 years of age.

  • Please note that unless the whole table has been booked out (16 pax) you may have to share the teppanyaki table with other booking especially when it is busy. 8 people can sit comfortably around either side of the teppanyaki table.

  • Final guest numbers should be confirmed at least 24 hours before your reservation. Reminders to confirm reservations will be sent out beforehand, failure to confirm your reservation with us may result in us cancelling it or charging a $30 per head no-show fee.

  • Reservation number changes are subject to availability and should be requested as early as possible. Please note that last minute (within 24-hours of reservation) number increase requests that cannot be honoured due to seating availability, resulting in cancellation by the customer is considered cancelling within the 24-hour window. This may result in a last-minute cancellation charge of $30 per head.

Large group booking (Groups of 8+)

  • Headcount Confirmation: Final guest numbers must be confirmed at least 24-hours before your reservation time.

  • Large group bookings may require a deposit to confirm the reservation.

  • Minimum Spend: Tables of 16 or more guest are subject to a minimum spend of $50 per person. 

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

  • You can cancel or modify your reservation free of charge up to 24-hours before your booking time. Cancellations made within 24-hours, or failure to show up will incur a fee of $30 per person.

  • No-Show Fees: If your group size decreases by more than 2 guests without 24-hour's notice, a $30 fee per missing guest may be charged to the card on file.

  • If you do not arrive for your reservation and do not notify us in advance, it will be considered a NO-SHOW.
